Basketball

Shine’s most energetic outreach takes place in the local park of the South Tel Aviv area.  Adjacent to the Central Bus Station, Levinski Park is the known “hangout” of all the local refugees.  Sadly, it has also become the known “hangout” for all the local druggies, dealers, and homeless.  It is one of the darkest areas in the South Tel Aviv area…..

…. and what better way to bring light into the darkness than by having a little fun and exercise!  Shine is taking over the park every Monday Night by inviting all the local kids to come play basketball with us, by showing the world that we want to invest in these kids lives and care for them.  Most of these children need to be shown love and attention in a positive way, and we are beginning to build relationships with many who have been coming each week.

One hour of Basketball, snacks and drinks can go a long way in the eyes of a child….

We are currently on break during the winter season, but as soon as the weather warms up we will move back to Mondays from 18:00-19:00, Levinski Park, across from the Tel Aviv Central Bus Station… come join us if you are in the area
